Market Halls tops crowdfunding target

Food hall brand Market Halls has topped its £600,000 Seedrs crowdfunding target with 28 days still remaining.

The London-based food and drinks group has achieved £702,159 at the time of writing, from 240 investors.

Founded in 2017, Market Halls now operates with three venues across London, namely in Fulham, Victoria, and the West End.

The company said that it is “committed to quickly scaling the business” through a “finely-tuned expansion plan, fresh new identity, new gold-dust venues and an improved customer offering”.

Market Halls saw £15.2m in revenues for the 12 months to February 2020, with its Victoria operation achieving £1.5m EBITDA in the same period.

The group intends to build on its pre-pandemic results through “huge pent up demand”, as it claimed that going out for coffee, socialising, and dining are three of Europe’s top five “most missed social outings”.

Looking ahead, Market Halls is aiming to introduce additional bars, rapid delivery via over 40 kitchens, live ticketed events, and stronger breakfast offerings.
