Notting Hill’s The Little Yellow Door returns with permanent home

Following its pop up at Notting Hill Gate, cocktail bar and restaurant, The Little Yellow Door, will open a new permanent home on the All Saints Road in London’s Notting Hill.

Based on a fictional flatshare between friends from all walks of life, the bar offers “inventive” cocktails in the corner, fresh and seasonal dishes on the kitchen counter and board games.

On the latest leg of the flatmates’ journey, when some of the original flatmates decamped to south west London and opened The Little Blue Door in Fulham last year, some of the others “waited to find the perfect new neighbourhood gem” of a Notting Hill abode and “hit the jackpot, inheriting a house from their benevolent great aunt”.

Set over two floors, The Little Yellow Door will take its inspiration from the ever flatshare, filled with “colourful and quirky” finds, mismatched furniture and the original yellow door now on permanent display. Guests will enter a “true home from home”, with an open plan kitchen and living room, complete with a fireplace and sofas.

The experimental cocktail list, named after the flatmates’ DVD collection will be displayed in photos albums and feature some new additions alongside favourites such as; Coffee and Cigarettes, served with a surprise on the side, and Kill Bill, a heady mix of Earl Grey infused Bombay Sapphire Gin, Lemon Curd and Thyme. Sticking to traditions, regulars will receive personalised mug-shot mugs and a secret key to guarantee entry to the flat.

Every night, The Little Yellow Door will serve a seasonal menu, with a “competitive twist”. The monthly changing menu will see two of the flatmates use their national cuisine to cook off against each other, with one rule – the winner stays on for the following month.

The bar menu includes salt and pepper squid, served with lettuce wraps, lime leaf and lemongrass dipping sauce, woodfired bavette steak with chimichurri and a horseradish cream or shallot sauce and pork belly and peanut bao buns with house pickles.

On weekends, The Little Yellow Door will open all day and serve Saturday bottomless brunches and Sunday roasts.

Downstairs guests will find a secret hideaway open till 2am called The Flatmate’s Den which will feature backgammon, poker tables, retro games and the Flatmates music corner, complete with vinyl players, instruments and live DJs.

As with The Little Blue Door in Fulham, guests will be able to make bookings via WhatsApp.
